Frequently Asked Questions for the GetWaterSmart Directory, UK

How much does the GetWaterSmart Directory cost?

The cost to feature certified water saving products on the GetWaterSmart Directory is £250 per month, or £2,750 for 12 months as a single payment. Please contact a member of our GetWaterSmart team at uwla.directory@savewatersavemoney.com to discuss further.

How much commission does the GetWaterSmart Directory take?

Nothing. The GetWaterSmart Directory is non-transactional. When consumers find a product they wish to purchase, they can click on the Find out more button to purchase directly from your website, or that of your chosen distributor(s).

We do not have an online shop. How does this work?

You can feature any link you choose for each water efficient product you provide. It can direct consumers to one of your distributor’s websites.

Is there a specific image and copy requirement?

Yes – the GetWaterSmart team has prepared a checklist here of what you’ll need in order to feature your water efficient products. This includes a storefront to showcase your organisation and ambitions around water efficiency.

How many products can we feature on the GetWaterSmart Directory?

You can feature as many water saving products as you wish on the GetWaterSmart Directory, so long as each product is certified with the relevant water efficiency accreditation. For example, a showerhead must have UWLA accreditation in the UK, and WaterSense in the US and WELS in Australia.

Is there more we can do to promote our products?

Yes. You can provide special offers via the GetWaterFit newsletter which is sent to those consumers who complete the GetWaterFit digital tool, and who opt in to receiving correspondence about water efficiency. You can have a run through GetWaterFit at https://www.getwaterfit.co.uk/#/ Once you’ve registered, you’ll see how the tool recommends water efficient products appropriate to your individual profile, with links directly through to the GetWaterSmart Directory.

Can I make a white label version of GetWaterFit

Yes. You can generate a UTM string of code to embed within social media or a QR code. Consumers who complete the GetWaterFit tool via this UTM link will see your logo and banner, creating essentially a water efficiency white label site. The banner will direct these users directly to your company storefront on the GetWaterSmart Directory.

If this is of interest, the GetWaterSmart team will be happy to discuss further.

What’s in it for me?

Your brand and certified water saving products will be visibly associated with water efficiency and water conservation.

From a business perspective, you can download our report here which explains the rationale behind this initiative in more detail, in particular how shifting customer sentiment towards sustainability and the evolving retail media landscape are emphasising the need for brands to innovate in order to stay competitive.

Won’t I simply be competing with other organisations but on a single platform?

You will still be competing, but not with manufacturers that promote non-certified products that claim to be water efficient. Essentially, the GetWaterSmart Directory creates a level playing field of providers of exclusively certified water efficiency products.

How does it work?

Users can access the GetWaterSmart Directory via a search engine, for example Google, if they know what they are looking for; or via the GetWaterFit tool that will help them understand which products are right to help save water and energy, and then links through to these water efficient products on the GetWaterSmart Directory.
